Though a clear no-brainer for a Boston local, this also affords those coming in from other locations the opportunity to put funds toward travel expenses. 2 - Day Barbell Foundations CourseLearn and work directly with multi decade internationally sought instuctor Phil Scarito, Founder of DV8 and DV8 training methods. Learn how to better set up, execute, and modify each lift, as well as troubleshooting. Saturday, May 20th from 10am-5pm edt Sunday, May 21st from 9am-2pm edt Day 1 - Hands on practiceRight from the start on Day 1 this course will dive into the intricacies of the most popular power lifts: Sumo Deadlift Conventional Deadlift Back Squat/Front Squat Bench Press Overhead Press We will discuss and practice the key elements for each lift that many students, even those who are more tenured, overlook during their practice and training. This will include the following: Mindset Setup/technique Execution Rehearsal Every time you go into your training session these elements must be present. This will allow you to create consistency within your lifts and will yield powerful results and keep you safe. Day 2 - ConceptsDay 2 we will revisit for comprehension and proficiency our practices from Day One as well as cover some critical concepts relating to strength training. This course will not only offer troubleshooting throughout the entire weekend, but will include a special barbell troubleshooting section Day Two, front and center with your instuctor, where each student will have the opportunity to execute the lifts they feel they need the most work on or are unfamiliar with, which will also hone the coaches' eye of every student in the room. Priceless experience. This is one of the best ways to learn and develop better technique. We will also introduce how utilizing a different start position within your kettlebell training will improve starting strength for your barbell lifts. Critical concepts will include the following; Wedging The DV8 Start (Kettlebells) Time under the bar Listening to your body Breathing under tension While you do not need any prior Barbell experience to take this course, the course is not just for students new to the bar. It is for the beginner as well as experienced students. We all still have plenty to learn and we should never stop educating ourselves beyond our preconceived and otherwise learned patterns.
