Description
This session will be occurring in person at Parkview Field- Tincaps Suite Level Lounge and is approved for 1 CFRE credit. Fundraising is a gift that some of us are lucky enough to be involved in during our careers. When donors choose to share substantial gifts with a nonprofit, a precious relationship has been created. For a donor to make a large gift, whether a current or estate gift, there must be a strongly developed trust in your organization by the donor. The donor must believe in your nonprofit’s mission. In addition, the donor needs to trust in you, their representative for the organization. If they don't feel comfortable with you, the relationship won't grow. Let's explore one path that has led to increased planned giving. Building strong relationships with your donors. Dave Stevens has been a Senior Director of Institutional Advancement with Indiana Tech for the last seven years. Dave meets with alumni around the country, discussing the university, their philanthropic desires, and how they can make an impact with their support of the University. Dave has focused his career on building individual relationships. He spent the first 25 years of his career in broadcast advertising sales and advertising agency client service. In 2009, Dave was appointed Executive Director of Redeemer Radio, a Catholic Radio apostolate in northeast Indiana. At Redeemer Radio, Dave discovered his passion for developing philanthropic relationships with donors who wanted to help their nonprofit organization. Born in New York and a graduate of Ohio University, Dave has called Fort Wayne home for the last 34 years. He and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 38 years. He has four children and one adorable grandchild. The day opens with lunch and networking before turning the floor over to the speaker, Dave. Time will be provided for questions throughout the event.
