Press release from the Town of Westford and the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission: January 11, 2021 On Jan. 7, 2021, Governor Charlie Baker issued an Order extending the time period on therestriction on the number of patrons allowed in retail licensees' premises to 25% capacity limit. This includes licensees that sell alcohol for consumption both on- and off-premises. A summaryof the Governor's Order extending this time period can be found HERE. As the Governor ordered on Dec. 22, all retail licensees are restricted to a 25% capacitylimit. This applies to indoor and outdoor seating separately. For off-premise licensees, the 25% capacity limit is calculated by the occupancy load as stated ona licensee's certificate of inspection issued under the State Building Code. For on-premise licensees, the 25% capacity limit is based on a licensee's seating capacity.Questions regarding seating capacity should be directed to your local licensing authority.Workers/staff are excluded from the occupancy count.
