What steps are local officials taking to reduce the risk of wildfires on our open space lands? How effective are these actions? How do they impact our water quality, native vegetation, and biodiversity? How has the management of our open spaces changed since the Marshall Fire? How is research informing future decisions?
Join us May 23 from 6-8 pm to discuss answers to these questions and more. We will hear from a panel of local leaders representing Boulder County, the City of Boulder, the State Forest Service, the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, and CU-Boulder. Panelists will describe recent efforts to manage wildfire risk in Boulder's forests and grasslands. There will be opportunity for questions and open discussion about how we can adapt to a future with more fires.
Doors will open at 5:30, where guests will have a chance to mingle with local leaders and organizations who working on the front lines of to reduce fire risk and protect the natural resources in our community.
