Description

In this class, we will start from scratch and re-create photos from Josh Huskin's portfolio with a model.  This will be an interactive class where participants can ask questions and get involved in the lighting process so they can fully understand how/why/when/where to use lights to create studio portraits.  Come prepared to learn and collaborate! About The Instructor Josh Huskin is an advertising and editorial photographer based in San Antonio, TX and runs Eleven Hundred Collective Studio. He grew up in a small town in West Texas before moving to San Antonio in 2005. While he’s best known for his fanciful yet insightful images of movers and shakers – Julián Castro, David Robinson, Nina Diaz, Simone Biles and Sir David Adjaye to name a few – he is also a first-call photographer for advertising agencies, corporate projects and magazines. Josh has exhibited work at Flight Gallery, Plaza de Armas, McNay Art Museum and Blue Star Art Contemporary Museum. His work has been included in the American Photography 33(book), 35(archive), 36(book), 37(archive) and 39(archive) , and his portrait of Spot Barnett has a permanent home in the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University. Josh gives back to his profession as co-founder of 4x5 Photo Fest, a free one-day workshop by and for photographers held annually in San Antonio.
