Colleen is an artist, art educator, and yoga instructor living in Hammonton, New Jersey. She has always been drawn to positive and inspirational quotes and enjoys creating her own positive reminders in the form of "hand lettering." "Zententional Art" is a workshop which combines the art forms of "hand lettering" and "Zentangling." "Hand lettering" is the art of drawing letters by hand through the exploration of various font styles, calligraphy techniques, and 3-D effects. "Zentangling" is the intentional process of drawing small, concentrated, repeating patterns. Colleen loves combining the "Zentangling" and "hand lettering" processes together because they each promote a positive and peaceful state of mind, and each process allows participants to feel encouraged and supported. Upon arrival, each participant will receive their own 4" x 4" paper "tile" and will begin by focusing on an "intention" or a positive affirmation or phrase. After learning some hand lettering techniques, participants will then hand letter their "intention" onto their paper tile. Then, participants will learn the "Zentangle" process and will create their own "Zentangles" around their words. All supplies will be included, as well as demonstrations and various resources to guide you through your "Zentention" process.
