The Local Chef Series is back on Saturday, May 20th at 4:00pm inside The Tasting Room with Deja Vu Kitchen!Deja'Vu Kitchen is a newly established catering business that offers drop-off catering services for social events, private business meetings and birthday parties. They specialize in Southern flavors that represent the background of our culture and Chef herself. "We cook with love because behind every dish we make, there is a story. Deja'Vu Kitchen is here to make you reminisce and take you back to old school familiar flavors with a twist providing new delicious flavors that you may not have tried before. We want to not only share the flavors we have grown up on but also let you experience the Sunday Dinners and memories that we had with our loved ones." Space is limited; there are only 14 spots available for this intimate pop-up dinner! Tickets are $80/person plus tax(drinks are a la carte) for a four-course meal. Starter: Angel Eggs (hard-boiled egg with a delicous egg yolk filling. First Course: Catfish (perfectly breaded, Southern fried catfish) Second Course: Gumbo (hearty stew with chicken, turkey sausage, shrimp, and a mix of vegetables, served with a side of rice) Sides: Collard Greens and Candied Yams Dessert: Beignets About Chef Deja Austin:I have always had my hands in the kitchen since I was a little girl. I was taught the basics of cooking by my amazing mother & grandmother which made me realize how much love & joy it brings. It turned into me helping in the kitchen for family gatherings, to hosting the family gatherings and now a blessing to share my talent with the world. Cooking for others showed me how much I enjoy seeing smiles on others faces because of what I bring to the table. Turning something that I LOVE into something BIGGER.
