You won't want to miss our last Tunes & Shrooms event of the summer season. Join us at the farm and welcome the beginning of summer with this family-friendly musical experience featuring SunDazed! SunDazed is a dynamic, diversified duo touring the Carolinas, playing everything from the Roaring 20s through present-day pop hits, and a growing collection of originals. Be it a laid-back, Sunday afternoon coffee shop vibe, or a packed Friday night pub vibe, they've got you covered. They exude both joy and fun as they play! This event is a perfect energizer for the rest of your week. Participants are invited to bring their supper to the farm to relax and enjoy the surroundings as early as 5:30 pm. There will be a craft time where kids will be invited to make their own suncatchers. The music will begin at right around 6:30 pm and will play us into the evening. Part of the proceeds collected at this gathering will be donated to "A Child's Place," a local organization that helps homeless children succeed and focuses on building strong families within our community. All ages are welcome to attend. Please purchase your tickets early as space is limited. SunDazed, is a fantastic duo that has hit the Carolina music scene with a fresh, new sound that feels oddly familiar. Drea and Joseph hail from Canada and Nebraska, respectively. Drea is a teacher by heart, and mother of 2, whose hobbies include gardening, walking her giant dog around town, and learning new things daily. Growing up on the Canadian side of Detroit, her musical influences ranged from Motown to 90s Alt Rock, Oldies, Country, Rap, and beyond. Joseph is a food aficionado and a networking guru. Relatively new to the South, he spends his spare time on his BMX bike, walking his tiny dog around town, and perfecting his multiple crafts. Taking his inspiration from the quintessential Bob Dylan, he pays homage to the musical greats, while blending genres to create his own sound. Together, they play their renditions of a variety of genres and artists and can set the mood for a busy Friday night or a quiet Sunday afternoon. Best of all, they have fun doing it! Thompson is a human services leader transforming lives through early childhood, family stability, and mental health services. As a solutions-driven organization committed to rewriting narratives for the most vulnerable in our community; Thompson achieves this by providing comprehensive, evidence-based services, and trauma-informed care, for children (ages 0-18) and their families, virtually and in-person."A Child's Place," is part of this organization. Thompson is a leading provider of clinical and prevention services for children and families across the Carolinas. The Charlotte, NC-based, nationally accredited nonprofit agency empowers children and families through therapy, education, and prevention-based care. Thompson has four locations specializing in clinical and behavioral treatment, developmental education, and proactive care. Winding Brook Farms is a cozy mushroom farm tucked right outside of downtown Monroe. We are passionate about our community and all things mushroom.
