Description

Wildflowers are kaleidoscopic in healing benefits – they provide anti-inflammatory properties, heal wounds, aid in digestion, and reduce stress, all the while providing food and shelter for important pollinators in our food systems.During this eco-therapy experience, we will guide you through the practice of wildflower therapy in Pacifica, a beloved Bay Area destination home to a rich variety of native plant and animal species. We'll connect with the natural world around us by engaging our senses – from the fruity smell of California poppies to velvety texture of bluebells to the striking yellow of our own native buttercup. Through journaling, hiking, and multisensory meditation, we’ll collectively explore: how to recognize and identify wildflowers native to the Bay, using our five senses 🌬practicing mindfulness and "joy-spotting" in community, hiking through this epic superbloom season 🌼the symbolism of wildflowers, including their nurturing properties as well as their strength and resilience to bloom in difficult environments 🌈About the GuideSophie Haruna Klimcak is a co-founder of Wild Awake. She harnesses her mixed-race identity of Japanese, American, and Eastern European ancestry to bridge Eastern and Western ways of knowing to create programmatic experiences. She is a stargazer who loves to meet people by a campfire, on the yoga mat, and over a cozy cup of tea. She grew up picking daises on the soccer field, finding homes in meadows, and has traveled in flower-loving forests all over the world, including multi-week backpacking treks in Colorado, Patagonia, Nepal, Guatemala, and South Africa.
