Bring any books you'd like to swap or donate. Books For Keeps has kindly provided an assortment of genres to choose your swap(s) from. Any books donated or leftover after the event will go to Books For Keeps' warehouse to use in its community programs or the next book fair (October 2023). Everyone is welcome to this free event. Keep in mind that this is not a dedicated reading events like most of our meetups, although you are welcome to read! Please check our FAQs for info about parking, arrival, accepted book types, etc. We are grateful to Southern Brewing Company for hosting Silent Book Club for this event and other reading events throughout the year. Please show your support by making a beverage or merchandise purchase in the taproom, tipping the bartenders, or tagging the brewery on social media when you share about the book swap! Books For Keeps works to improve children’s reading achievement by addressing barriers related to the accessibility and appeal of reading material. The non-profit organization gives books to children whose reading opportunities outside of school might be limited due to geography, income, or other factors. BFK operates throughout the Athens community and beyond with book distributions, a literacy mentor program, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Clarke County, and community-based events that encourage a love of reading for all ages.
