Upon approved, there will be an update sent out. (Please Note: If you register for this training, you will need to make every effort to attend. Both state and federal dollars are used to fund this training at no cost to attendees. Hoarding Disorder: Help & Hope for a Life Less Cluttered Facilitated by Lee Shuer, Founder and CEO of Mutual Support Consulting, LLC Easthampton, MA-Providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered professional development with a focus on hoarding disorder (HD) and peer support. He has developed and disseminates interventions for people with HD including the evidence-based Buried in Treasures Workshop and WRAP® for Reducing Clutter. And certify the Buried in Treasures Workshop and HD Training Facilitators. The training time: June 15th, Day 1 9 to 5 (Lunch from 12 to 1) Registration 8:30 June 16th Day 2 9 to 12 (Lunch will not be provided this day) Learning Objectives: 1. Trainees will know the diagnostic criteria of hoarding disorder (HD) and the impact of cooccurring disorders. 2. Trainees will learn ways to overcome stigma, build rapport with people who need help for clutter, and develop a trusting partnership to assist in the individual’s recovery. 3. Trainees will learn reasons why people acquire and save and strategies to address those behaviors. 4. Trainees will participate in exercises to help them gain first-hand knowledge of the complexity of our attachments to possessions. 5. Trainees will learn strategies to help people maintain decluttering progress that they've achieved. 6. Trainees will learn a harm reduction approach to meeting safety standards to reduce evictions and preserve tenancy.
