Description

Did you know that mead is made here in the Lehigh Valley?  Mead, which is made from fermented honey, was much loved by Celtic tribes and Viking warriors. But, over the last few centuries it has largely disappeared with beer, wine and whisky knocking it off its pedestal. In Celtic cultures, mead was famously popular among highlanders and believed to enhance virility and fertility with aphrodisiac qualities. For one month after a marriage, the bride and groom would drink this honey wine every night as it was meant to help their virility and improve their chances of conceiving. Learn how mead is made by our friends at Colony Meadery.  We will tour their facility to see the distilling process and learn more about the history of mead. And of course… TASTE MEAD!  Your ticket will include five tastings of Colony Meadery’s fine products. This tour has limited space, buy your tickets (below) soon! Must be 21 to participate.
