ENTRE Film Center presents a screening of CULTURE, WATER, AND MONEY: THE PASSION OF THE FRONTIER, a documentary film produced by the River Pierce Foundation in association with artists Michael Tracy and Christopher Rincon. The screening will be paired with a video installation by Matamoros-based artist Javier Dragustinovis titled A PAR DEL RIO (Along the River). This film follows the course of the Santa Catarina River in Monterrey, MX, where modern architecture coexists with DIY construction and scattered debris. In a process of archeological dismantling, modernity is questioned as an ideal in Latin America. Christopher Rincon and Javier Dragustinovis will take part in a panel discussion following the screenings alongside Bekah Hinojosa, Senior Gulf Coast Campaign Representative for the Beyond Dirty Fuels Campaign, and Dr. Christopher Basaldú, Activist and Carrizo Comecrudo tribal member. If you do not have a personal mode of transportation, take this workshop with a friend who does! Parking for this workshop will be available along Jackson Ave in front of the center.
