ENTRE Film Center presents a screening of CULTURE, WATER, AND MONEY: THE PASSION OF THE FRONTIER, a documentary film produced by the River Pierce Foundation in association with artists Michael Tracy and Christopher Rincon. The screening will be paired with a video installation by Matamoros-based artist Javier Dragustinovis titled A PAR DEL RIO (Along the River). This film follows the course of the Santa Catarina River in Monterrey, MX, where modern architecture coexists with DIY construction and scattered debris. In a process of archeological dismantling, modernity is questioned as an ideal in Latin America.
Christopher Rincon and Javier Dragustinovis will take part in a panel discussion following the screenings alongside Bekah Hinojosa, Senior Gulf Coast Campaign Representative for the Beyond Dirty Fuels Campaign, and Dr. Christopher Basaldú, Activist and Carrizo Comecrudo tribal member.
