Join Teach For America Austin at our next Community Conversation: The Future of the Teaching Profession. Since the beginning of the pandemic and carrying on beyond, teachers are leaving the classroom in waves. Surveys suggest that a significant number of current teachers are considering a change in profession, and that the majority of them have taken some step forward to transition. We'll be chatting with policy experts and educators to learn why teachers are exiting and potential solutions to retain and attract excellent educators. Panelists: JoLisa Hoover, Teacher Specialist with Raise Your Hand Texas Lindsay Sobel, Chief of Policy, Planning & External Affairs, Teach Plus Matthew Balter, 6th- 8th grade Creative Writing and Speech & Debate at Gorzycki Middle School, Austin ISD The space will open at 6:00pm for 30 minutes of networking and light refreshments followed by a one hour panel from 6:30-7:30.
