The Woodshop Listening Room Presents: Brother and The Hayes + Nathan Kalish + Jessica Pounds Thursday, June 1st $15 Pre-Sale Tickets | $18 Day of Show Doors at 5pm | Music at 8pm *no cover until 7pm* Brother and the Hayes (Country, Folk, Blues) VIDEO | LISTEN Brother (David Bingaman) and The Hayes (Jennie Hayes Kurtz) are siblings hailing from Dallas, Texas. Growing up, Jennie Hayes sang in the choir while David taught himself to play guitar by listening to blues musicians like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Ligntin’ Hopkins. Their latest release, Another Strange Time, is turning heads. "Over a steady, lightly rocking arrangement, enhanced by a soulful guitar solo and sprinkling keys, 'Something to Find' recalls the Drive-By Truckers at their most thoughtful." - The Indy Review Nathan Kalish (Folk Songwriter) VIDEO | LISTEN Nathan Kalish is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, and wandering storyteller. Born in Milwaukee, WI, to missionary parents, he was moved around for most of his formative years. By the time Kalish had graduated high school, he had already lived all over the Midwest, as well as Western Europe and directly after the wall fell in Eastern Europe.” He then spent over a decade performing music across both, playing bars and Honky-Tonks for 200+ shows a year. Now he lives and creates in Nashville, TN. Jessica Pounds (Americana Songwriter) VIDEO “Pounds shows the depth of her lyricism in a literary style akin to the Southern Gothic of Flannery O’Conner. Her opening lines of the song could be those from one of the great Southern writer’s short stories and portend trouble as surely as a black cat crossing your path.” -Mike Bernos, Arbus Magazine “Jessica’s music is power and beauty rarefied and clarified through the alembic of vulnerability. It’s honest and real and transcendent.” -Tim Gilmore, Folio Weekly
