FINDING THE BEST STORY TO TELL YOUR STORY Following up on our May 19th launch of the Lundberg Family Foundation Film Series with the documentary, Heaven Stood Still: The Incarnations of Willy DeVille, Director Larry Locke presents a Master Class for current and aspiring documentary filmmakers:The class will meet on June 14 and 21, at 2 pm in Brooks Place at the Westport Library. This is a two-part series that will focus on techniques that help to convert your idea for a film into an actual compelling documentary story. Students will be shown examples in current films and also participate in the actual process for a new film now in development. About the Filmmaker:Larry Locke is a multi-award winning producer/director whose films have screened at major documentary film festivals worldwide, including the Toronto International Film Festival, (DFA) International Documentary Festival of Amsterdam, Slamdance (SXSW) South By Southwest, DOC NYC, Cinequest, American Film Festival, American Black Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Doc n Roll UK, and many others. In addition to feature documentaries, Larry has directed national documentary segments for CBS News, MTV Sports and award-winning short documentaries world-wide. Along with making films, he and his Arc Pictures NYC partner, Jan Grzmar, are considered pioneers in the technical development of the personal documentary genre. The Westport Library’s Lundberg Family Foundation Masters Film Series will will showcase films and filmmakers, celebrating contemporary masters, innovative new voices, and emerging artists.
