Andrey Tchekmazov and Stefano Miceli in Concert About Andrey Tchekmazov: Hailed by critics as an “extraordinary musician” (Washington Post), cellist Andrey Tchekmazov is known for his versatility as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. The Grand Prize winner of the Vittorio Gui International Chamber Music Competition and the Premio Trio di Trieste, Mr. Tchekmazov has performed extensively throughout North and South America, Europe, Russia and Asia, appearing at the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Osaka Symphony Hall in Japan, New York’s Alice Tully Hall, and Brazil’s Sala Cecilia Mereles with orchestras such as the Sao Paolo Symphony, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the Kiev Philharmonic and the Teatro Alfa Symphony. Among his other prizes and awards are the Koussevitsky Cello Competition in New York, the Schadt Competition, Artist International, Premio della Critica in Trieste and the Russian National Competition in Moscow. Since his critically acclaimed debut at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, Mr. Tchekmazov has enjoyed an active career as a recitalist and chamber musician, performing at such renowned venues as the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C, Bargemusic, Jupiter Chamber Players, Lukas Foss’s Music Festival at The Hamptons, Lyric Chamber Music Society in New York, Rhode Island Chamber Music Series, Bar Harbor Music Festival, Zankel Hall, Merkin Hall, Caramoor and Hampden Sydney where he was invited to perform by the members of the Emerson String Quartet. Mr. Tchekmazov is a faculty member at the Summit, Waterville Valley and Summertrios Music Festivals. Mr. Tchekmazov’s performances have been featured on WQXR, WGBH, NPR, and other TV and radio stations across Eastern and Western Europe and South America. He has made recordings for the NAXOS label with the Russian National Philharmonic, as well as the Delos label. About Stefano Miceli : Stefano Miceli has established a reputation as one of the foremost Italian pianists and conductors performing today. Stefano is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nuovo Teatro Verdi Foundation in Brindisi, Italy, Music Director of the Orchestra del Nuovo Teatro Verdi, Music Director of the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra, NY, and President of the Milano Metropolitan Orchestra in Milan. As a conductor, pianist and regular guest artist at the most important festivals and theaters in the world he has earned the applause of audiences at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Berliner Philharmonie, Fenice Opera House, Beijing's Forbidden City Concert Hall, Donizetti Opera Bergamo, Boston Theatre, Melbourne Arts Center, Bellini Opera Catania, and festivals in Tbilisi, Bangkok, Saigon, Hanoi, Milan, Rome, Napoli, Lugano, Washington, and New Orleans. In addition to his performing career Stefano is dedicated to the promulgation of classical education and talent. Bach" Music School in Leipzig, Melbourne Conservatory of Music, El Sistema Music Schools in Venezuela, National Academy of Arts in Malta, and Steinway Academy Verona, Italy. Stefano is currently a faculty member at Adelphi University in New York and at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, NYC, and Managing Director and Piano Master Program Director at the Long Island Music Conservatory, NY. Since 2015 Stefano is the Director of the International Summer Piano Camp of Italy "Brindisi Camp" in Brindisi, Italy. Stefano is the recipient of the "Abraham Lincoln" Medal (NYC), the Italian Academy's 2012 "Bravo! Award" (NYC), and of the prestigious Silver Medal from the President of the Republic of Italy (2008, Rome, Italy) for his performances in Italy and for his dedication to education. In December 2018 Stefano was given the "2018 Award of Excellence in Performing Arts" by the American Society of Friends of Teatro Alla Scala. In 2015 Stefano was part of the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella's delegation to Vietnam to conduct the Saigon Opera House Philharmonic triumphantly and mark the official opening of the cultural cooperation program among Italy and Vietnam. In 2020 the United Nations headquarter Stefano was invited as a conductor to celebrate its 75th anniversary. In 2023 Stefano welcomed the Under-Secretary General at the United Nations Mr. Atul Khare in Brindisi at Nuovo Teatro Verdi theatre in Brindisi, Italy offering a cultural diplomacy Gala Concert for the United Nations with the Orchestra del Nuovo Teatro Verdi. Stefano is a Board Advisor at Phoenicia Festival of the Voice, New York. Stefano is proud to be a Steinway Artist (Hamburg Department, 2011).
