Description

Exchanging Experiences was created as a place to celebrate Trail Running and the runners of our community - to get to know each other better and highlight the crazy things being achieved right in our backyard! Runners of the Bay @runnersofthebay hosts this live podcast interviewing athletes at our San Anselmo store and streaming on our YouTube Channel. Join us Tuesday May 24th with Sharon Finston and Carolyn Latham are mother-daughter and come from a family of endurance horseback riders. There are four generations of Tevis Cup finishers in their family; Sharon being in the third generation and Carolyn being in the fourth and a total of 13 family members. The Tevis Cup aka. Western States Trail Ride, is the race that spurred the start of the Western States Endurance Run. In 1974, Gordy Ainsleigh was slated to ride his horse in the Tevis. His horse came up lame a little while before the race was slated to be ridden and Gordy decided to run it alongside the horses...and the rest is history.
