Join us for our second Town Up Tuesday, a day of community connection and celebration of Bay culture with some of our favorite homegrown musical talent! Last year performers included: Goapele, Kamaiyah, Stunnaman02, Symba and many more! This year you are in for many surprises with another stellar line up! Stay tuned! Did you know that Alameda County spends over $800,000 to incarcerate one young person for a year? Or that 98% of youth incarcerated in Alameda’s juvenile justice system are youth of color? Our youth deserve better and together we can reimagine youth justice to support our young people and create safer communities. It's just past Children’s Fairyland, and opposite from the Lakeside Lawn Bowling Courts, and the Garden Center at 666 Bellevue Avenue. Paid parking ($3) is available at the Lakeside Park kiosk entrance at Bellevue Ave. (at Fairyland entrance). Payments for parking should only be made to a Oakland Parks & Recreation staff operating out of the booth at the entrance. The area is served by AC Transit lines 11, 12 and NL. The nearest stop on line 11 is on Harrison Street at Grand Avenue. Line 12 stops on Grand Avenue at Bellevue Avenue, and line NL on Grand Avenue at Perkins Street. The nearest BART station is 19th Street, just under one mile away. Transit planning is available at Transit 511. You may also dial 511 for this information.
