Welcome to the Jerseyville Police Department T.E.E.N.S Program Pickleball Tournament! Join us at 401 N Jefferson, Lion's Club park , Jerseyville IL 62052 for a fun-filled weekend of pickleball. This event is open to all ages (any players younger than 16 require adult supervision) and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, there's a spot for you in this tournament. Not only will you have a blast playing pickleball, but you'll also be supporting a great cause. The T.E.E.N.S Program is dedicated to providing positive experiences and opportunities for students in our community. So grab your paddle and get ready to show off your skills on the court. We can't wait to see you there! Payment: Team registration will be $70 ($35 per player). If an individual wishes to play on a second team there will be a $10 registration fee instead of $35. Make payments to the JPD TEENS program. Free shirt if you sign up before Sept 8th - Registration cutoff is Sept 15th September 23rd Women’s Doubles will begin promptly at 9:00am on the Lion’s Club Courts Men’s Doubles will begin at 12pm on the Lion’s Club Courts. September 24th Mixed Doubles will begin at 9:30am on the Lion’s Club Courts Check-In: Check in will be under the blue tent next to the Lion’s Club Park Sign on Jefferson St. Please check in immediately upon your arrival. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before your first game time. TOURNAMENT FORMAT: All groups will play a round-robin. The Tournament Director reserves the right to alter the format at any time. 1. Game Format- All games are 1 game to 11 win by 2 points. Players will switch sides of the court when the first team reaches 6 points. One time-out is allowed per team per game. 2. Scoring- Total wins will determine medal winners. In case of a tie, medals will be awarded based on total points scored. If there is still a tie, determining factor will be total points against. And if there is still a tie, determining factor will be head-to-head. 3. Schedule of Brackets - Brackets will be posted at the scorer's area prior to the opening of play and will be updated during competition. Players should be prepared to play at the beginning of their designated competition start time. After each game, both teams must come to the scorer's table to get their next court assignment. Winners of each game will sign and turn in the score sheet. Teams play everyone in their bracket once, unless their bracket is 5 or fewer teams, then teams play each team in their bracket twice. Brackets with 3 or fewer teams are merged with the nearest associated skill level bracket. REFEREES: Players playing the match will referee their own game. No referee will be provided. Per USAPA rules, do not ask for outside help regarding any line call, foot fault call, or any other judgment call. Help will be in the area and available in the event of a rules question or dispute. If needed, stop play and proceed directly to the scorer's table to request help. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 1. All matches will be conducted in accordance with USAPA rules. 2. Teams are entitled to 1 time-out per game; each time-out period shall last only 1 minute. 3. Warm-up before each match will be limited to two minutes. 4. Please bring your own water. 5. Bring a lawn chair for relaxing if necessary. 6. Tournament ball will be the neon green/yellow Pickleballs. 7. First serve will be determined by a coin flip.
