If you are new to renting out your vacation property, or are interested in getting started, this workshop is for you! Learn the basics and hear from experts on how to make the most of your investment. Registration has been generously covered by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. Schedule 5:30-6:00 pm - All about you 6:00-7:00 pm - Short Term Rentals 101 7:00-8:00 pm - Q & A session with vacation rental operators in your community 8:00-8:30 pm - Hear from local tourism leaders in your community on how we can help promote your rental, trip ideas, guides, events, and ways to help you gain more visitors. Attendees will recieve start-up materials, guides and templates. About Your Hosts The Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association began offering Short Term Rental Workshops in the region in Spring 2022 due to the increase in demand from visitors and owners/operators. Since then, more than 80 individuals have attended the program. The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development recognized the program and has partnered with Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association to expand the workshops statewide. The workshops are conducted by Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association Executive Director Alicia Phelps. Alicia has been involved in the tourism industry for nearly 15 years, with special focus on rural development and marketing. She operates two short term rentals with her family along the South Holston River in Bristol. Learn More About Our Workshops About Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association The Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association, chartered in 1977, is a non-profit tourism agency that serves and supports Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington counties, as well as portions of Southwest Virginia. The organization was named Tennessee’s Destination Marketing Organization of the year in 2019, and also serves as one of nine statewide regional tourism organizations recognized by Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.
