United Way of Lancaster County and Meals on Wheels of Lancaster will present the next installation of their monthly Lunch and Learn series on Friday, May 19th from 12:30-1:30pm, held in the event space at Meals on Wheels (1411 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster). This month's guest organization will be Occupational Development Center, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing high quality and cost effective nonprofit vocational training and employment opportunities for Lancaster County adults with developmental disabilities. Each month features a themed menu, prepared by Meals on Wheels. May's menu is inspired by Greece, and will include shredded seasoned pork sandwiches, briam (roasted vegetables) and rizogalo (rice pudding). Check out the menu in the photo below. The registration deadline is Friday, May 12th. The Lunch and Learns will be a fundraiser for the two host organizations and each month’s guest organization. Tickets cost $20, with proceeds split in thirds: 1/3 to United Way, 1/3 to Meals on Wheels, and 1/3 to the guest organization. Lunch & Learns bring together nonprofits, businesses, and interested community members to learn about organizations and initiatives from around the county, and to have an opportunity to network over a Friday lunch.
