Description
Sea levels are rising which is causing us to experience more flooding along our coastlines. The coast is not only home to vital marine ecosystems, but working waterfronts, small businesses, homes and critical town infrastructure. As sea levels continue to rise, we need to understand how to adapt and respond to frequent high waters in our communities. The Coastal Flooding Community Science project is a collaborative effort to answer the questions, “what weather and water level conditions are associated with coastal flooding in our community?” and “what areas of our shoreline are most vulnerable and critical to our community?”. Through community participation, data can be collected to better understand unique flood impacts and identify priorities for building coastal resilience. Want to be a steward of this project in your community? Join us for an in person workshop to meet other local organizations and learn how your organization can support community engagement surrounding the Coastal Flooding Community Science project.
