The Faith Inclusion Network (FIN) is celebrating faith communities and their community partners who not only promote congregation-wide disability awareness but work to ensure that anyone who attends their place of worship with a disability is welcomed and included. Let's celebrate, network, and reflect together on how we can continue to be a source of support to one another as we help cultivate meaningful connections between communities of faith and individuals with disabilities and their families, and promote access and the full participation of individuals with disabilities in spaces of worship. Dr. Yvette Wilson-Barnes About Faith Inclusion Network (FIN): FIN is a non-profit, grass roots organization founded in May of 2008, dedicated to helping faith communities develop inclusive ministries for people with disabilities and helping families affected by disability to find welcoming and accessible places to worship in South Hampton Roads, VA. On May 1, 2008, 22 representatives from faith communities and disability service providers met for the first time to discuss how to broaden awareness, share resources and begin to better meet the spiritual needs of people with disabilities in our community. Since then, we have held bi-annual faith and disability conferences, gala events and many smaller community events in the Hampton Roads area. We also consult for individuals, families, faith community leaders and volunteers on issues of faith and disability.
