Desert View Discovery HikeCome and explore the unique ecosystem of Long Valley and learn how to have a better and more fulfilling time outdoors. DETAILS Free to attend. Just show up. Registration optional. Leader: Hazel Whittaker, State Park Interpretive Specialist Event Date and Time: Saturday July 1, 9:00 am. to 11:00 a.m.. Meet at: Mountain Station 1st floor ground level observation patio. Difficulty level: Moderate Distance: Less that 2 miles Cost: Free. Tram tickets are $29.95 per adult. Remember, NHA members receive a 20% ticket discount! Sign up or renew your membership. REQUIREMENTS: Take the 8 am tram car to arrive at the meeting location on time (see our website for instructions on purchasing Tram tickets to help arrive on time). Each person must bring their own water (We recommend a minimum of 1 liters of water per person). Snacks, and day hiking gear are recommended. Please Leave No Trace on the mountain. Anyone under the age of 18 (minimum age 14) must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Proper hiking attire, i.e. hiking clothes, hiking boots (not tennis shoes!), hat, sunglasses.
