Description
As a registered 501(c) (3) national non-profit, non-political, non-governmental, non-affiliated women-for-women organization located in the United States of America, our primary goal is to engage, enlighten, and empower Onitsha women and their families to participate in the promotion of the cultural, social, educational, and economic development of Onitsha people in the United States and in our hometown. During the weekend of May 26th to 29th, 2023, Onitsha women, their children, and families will gather in Woodbridge, New Jersey, for an event celebrating our culture, engaging our youth and young adults, and raising funds for our target initiatives that will advance the health care and wellbeing of our families in Onitsha, Nigeria. Our theme for this year is "Addressing Women's Health and Wellness in USA and Onitsha." The funds raised during this weekend will continue to support our legacy projects, such as providing health insurance for indigent women, supporting Onitsha's long vacation program, and providing education and launching tools for preventive strategies that will improve the health & wellness of Onitsha women and their families. Ikporo Onitsha USA has a proven track record of providing services that advance our community by diligently applying funds donated by generous philanthropic partners like you. We have provided health insurance coverage for 100 elderly and indigent women in Onitsha in March 2023 to the tune of 1,250,000 Naira. In 2021 and 2022, we donated N1,000,000 to the Onitsha Long Vacation Program, a free 6-week program that provides lessons and mentorship to over 900 secondary school students in Onitsha. In 2019, we delivered a highly successful comprehensive medical mission in Inland Town, Onitsha. This mission provided services such as dental screening and treatment, ophthalmology screening and glasses, hypertension and diabetes screening, and medications to approximately 600 people. Over 100,000 pills and 230 pairs of glasses were dispensed and supported a year-round medical mission in Onitsha with medications and medical supplies. In 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ikporo Onitsha USA distributed food to over 2,600 women in Onitsha in our "Give to a Woman, Feed a Community Campaign." Please consider supporting us at one of the following sponsorship levels: Platinum Sponsor: $2,000 and above, Gold Sponsor: $1,000-1999.99, Silver Sponsor: $500 – 999.99, Bronze Sponsor: $250 -499.99, Sponsor: < $250.
