Steve and Susan will cook up a big paella over a raging fire. Please bring a Spanish wine and an ensalada, tapa, or postre. Also, please bring your own utensils and napkins (Steve has plenty of wine glasses and plates).
We can check out Steve's 20 cardoon plants, some sheep and goats; maybe chickens. Wear comfy shoes and bring a sweater in case the weather cools in the late afternoon. You might also bring a hat as we will be outside.
Driving directions:
Traveling from Plymouth, take the roundabout exit onto Shenandoah Road toward the wineries. Pass the small school and continue uphill to the right-hand turn onto Fiddletown Road (if you continue past, that is Shenandoah Road). Go about 6 miles into Fiddletown. The second LEFT once in town is Tyler Road (the road to the right is called American Flat, but make the left) go across the one land bridge then veer right after the bridge and go one mile. We're on the RIGHT, 15040 Tyler Road.
The gate will be open, continue about 200 meters up the road and park near the PARK HERE sign in front of the power pole.
If you want to make a weekend of it, Steve's neighbors have an Airbnb (he can provide contact info if interested). There's also Rest in Plymouth. Or, make a day of it and check out a winery beforehand.
