Description

Guests will join me for a kayak tour of Conneaut Creek to learn about ethnobotany - the ways that people throughout history and now use plants and other natural materials as wild foods, botanical medicine, textiles, tools, fuels, and building materials. The kayak tour focuses on plant species that mostly occur along a river bank. Participants can bring their own kayaks or rent kayaks at Float & Fly. Price of tour DOES NOT include kayak rentals. People renting kayaks must arrive at the Conneaut Creek Float & Fly to start the rental process at least 30 minutes before the tour starts. YOU ARE KAYAKING AT YOUR OWN RISK AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A WAIVER AND RELEASE FORM TO PARTICIPATE. THIS TOUR IS TO LEARN ABOUT PLANTS, PARTICIPANTS MUST ALREADY BE EXPERIENCED IN KAYAKING. Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear, hat, sunblock/screen, snacks, water, and something to keep everything dry. As a practicing herbalist and folk artist, I have direct experiences gathering and using plants. I started a small folk arts school in 2012 called the Trillium Center. I’m also a partner in a new experience-oriented business called Northways Studios, which will host tours, classes and workshops in fine, folk and healing arts.
