MGM City-County Public Library will begin with an introductory monologue of one infamous folk hero "Robin Hood" before introducing the Jr High and High school students from Pike Road Schools' KSL classes (led by Ms. Mary Chon) who will give the Korean interpretation of a similar folk hero, "Hong Gil Dong". These two folktales have very similar themes from England[Robin Hood] and Korea [Hong Gildong], but with different cultural elements. Each storyline carries a very different cultural perspective to explain why the protagonist becomes a ‘community hero.’
