Desert View Discovery HikeCome and explore the unique ecosystem of Long Valley and learn how to have a better and more fulfilling time outdoors. Low to moderate difficulty. DETAILS: No Prior signup required. Just show up.Leader: Hazel Whittaker, State Park Interpreter Specialist Event Date and Time: Thursday June 1, 10:45 am. to 2:00 p.m. Meet at: Meet at ground level observation patio at the Mountain Station of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Difficulty level: Easy to moderate Distance: 1.5 miles, 300 ft elevation change. Cost: Registration is free. Tram tickets are $29.95 per adult. Remember, NHA members receive a 20% ticket discount! Sign up or renew your membership. REQUIREMENTS: Each person must bring their own water (We recommend a minimum of 1 liters of water per person). Snacks, lunch, and day hiking gear are recommended. Please Leave No Trace on the mountain. Anyone under the age of 18 (minimum age 14) must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Proper hiking attire, i.e. hiking clothes, hiking boots (not tennis shoes!), hat, sunglasses. Hiking poles are suggested, but not mandatory.
