Join the Archdiocese of Detroit, Catholic Youth Organization, Catholic Committee on Scouting for Girls for a Scouting Medal Retreat at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grosse Ile, Michigan, on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10 am to 2 pm. Please plan to bring a lunch and a bottle of water for our lunch break. Earn half or all of your Catholic Scouting Medal requirements at this four-hour retreat for girls. God Is Love (grades Kindergarten-1st) - Helps children discover the appreciation that God created, cares for, and loves us all. Family of God (grades 2nd-3rd) - Helps children as members of their family and parish explore a wide range of activities to discover the presence of God in their daily life. I Live My Faith (grades 4th -6th grades) - Helps youth appreciate more deeply the place of God and religion in their daily lives. Marian Medal (grades 7th-10th) - Involves participants in an understanding of Mary as a model of openness and spirituality, a woman of the Church. Spirit Alive (grades10th-11th) - Helps youth discover how the Holy Spirit moves within their lives through a program of research, dialogue, and activities. Directions for getting onto Grosse Ile: There are two bridges to cross over to Grosse Ile. One bridge is a free county bridge and one is a pay bridge. The free bridge will be coming off of Jefferson nearest Van Horn road. The pay bridge is closest to the church but will cost $3 for one trip to come across.
