INTERNATIONAL GATOR DAY | May 20th, 2023 UF has designated Saturday, May 20, 2023, as International Gator Day, a day in which Gator Clubs around the world unite to utilize the size and spirit of the Gator Nation to positively impact local communities. Gators will join together to support projects and programs within their local communities, using their time and talents to serve others. In Jacksonville, this year we have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for you to choose from to give back to our local community on International Gator Day! Pre-registration is required for ALL volunteers. Capacity is limited on some of the opportunities. Please make sure that you read all of the information about each option before making your selection and follow the outlined instructions for each event. ------------------------------------------------ VOLUNTEER ROLE: HabiJax - ReStore Volunteer (Beach Blvd. Location) DESCRIPTION -- ReStores are retail stores that sell items to the public. All proceeds from the sale of donations of new and gently used furniture, appliances, and renovation materials support Habitat’s mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities. Volunteers at the ReStores assist with store operations such as sorting inventory, accepting donations, helping customers and more!NOTES -- No experience or materials are necessary! We will provide a safety briefing and instructions for the daily task on-site. All materials for the day will be provided. Please wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get a little messy.Volunteers aged 16+ accepted. Minors (16–18) must have a parent or guardian present.Volunteers aged 16+ accepted.
