ABOUTAthletes for Hope (AFH) is excited to announce its first annual golf tournament, an afternoon to celebrate, recognize and appreciate the power of the athletic spirit in making the world a better place through community service and advocacy. You are invited to support AFH’s mission to educate, inspire and connect athletes to underserved communities throughout the U.S. and beyond. WHAT YOUR SUPPORT WILL DOAFH is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Muhammad Ali, Mia Hamm, Andre Agassi and nine other elite athletes in 2006. Since then, thousands of AFH Athletes have positively impacted the lives of millions around the world. Proceeds from Putt the Passion will support two of AFH’s key programs: Since 2007, AFH University (AFH U) has educated and connected collegiate athletes to volunteer opportunities that support underserved schools and community organizations. In the Washington, D.C. area, AFH U works with hundreds of Howard, Georgetown and Bowie State University student-athletes and has partnered with local organizations such as Leveling the Playing Field, KEEN DC, Bread for the City and Children's NationalThe Whole Being Athlete Program (WBAP) focuses upon changing the public stigma around mental health by sharing athlete stories, creating educational content and resources, and advocating for systemic change. WBAP works closely with other best-in-class partners who are committed to the mental health space such as WETA-TV (Washington D.C.
