Let's get together for a relaxed, meditative run before the opening event! If you were at this running session at VeeCon 2022, welcome back! And if you are new to it, also welcome! :) I am so excited to be at VeeCon 2023 and meet literally hundreds and thousands of amazing people. But, being an introvert, I need my own ways to recharge myself and get ready for the conference. For me, running does that. And I wish to share this with VeeFriends. This Mindful Running session is designed for all levels of runners, especially if you want to get to the basics of running and its movement. I have done hundreds of this sessions to more than 1,000 people in South Korea, and it changed their approach to running and wellness. Below are a bit more details on what we will be doing. Please remember, this is really relaxed, and easy running session where we focus on the joy of running, not the distance or speed. My hope is that this session will change the way you approach running/exercise, and also help you recharge for the VeeCon :) *This session is completely FREE for veefriends, but if you'd like donate, you can send them to sungwookim.eth :) In this mindful running session, we will learn how to combine mindfulness with running and learn to run at our own pace. The session will come in two parts. First is meditation. Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned meditator, this session will help you begin your weekend with a clear and centered mind. As a group, we will do a 5-minute meditation. We will practice being present in the moment by keeping our attention on breathing. When thoughts come up, which is completely natural, you can simply bring your attention back to breathing. The second part is running. With our minds refreshed, we will do a warmup routine to get our bodies—mainly hips, hamstrings, shoulders and core—ready for the run. Then I will share a few mindful running lessons for you to apply and we will do a very relaxed and easy 20 minute run around the Gold Medal Park. We won't run as a group; everyone will run at the pace they are comfortable with their own breathing. If you want, I will run with you and help you monitor your breathing, rhythm, and posture for a better running experience. Come join, rediscover your own running, and get ready for VeeCon 2023 :)
