Description

Society says that women, can't raise men but the reality for many is that they have no choice. Can I Raise A Man is an impactful conversation derived from a program initiative on the effects and awareness of Fatherlessness among boys. We want to support these mothers with the tools necessary to be a great asset to their sons, and equip them with knowledge. This is a collaborative effort with Angel By Nature's Youth Development program, University of Houston Downtown and Coach Krystal Shanell. This event places focus on single mothers raising sons with emphasis on minority males. The purpose of the event is to support families in their process of decreasing the side effects of a fatherless generation and to break the cycle. This discussion centered experience offers a variety of components with emphasis on supporting healthy families, creating financial sustainability, increasing awareness on the effects of being a fatherless son, and implementing strategies that builds a better community. Additionally, this event offers support to single mothers who are rearing sons and may not have the proper tools required to raise a man.
