BPL is excited to partner with CompostGal and garden educator Lori Caldwell to offer a series of gardening classes for kids combining information about soil, plants, and trees with fun hands-on activities. These classes are designed for children between 7 and 12 years old. We will offer this series of classes twice. Registration for EACH CLASS is required. We understand you may not be able to make it to all classes in a series -- that's fine! Come garden with us! SOIL: What is soil made from? What’s the difference between soil and dirt? What are different types of soil? What does soil need to be healthy?PLANTS: Plant types and plant parts. How do plants make food? Plant cycle: seed, seedling, flower and then seed again!TREES: The role of trees in our ecosystem: Carbon capture; keeping the soil in place; communication and sharing with other trees and plants; and fruit and flowers!
