Come and stand in solidarity as we remember George Floyd and the impact his death had on the world. He did not die in vain, but to bring and call attention to the oppressed and marginalized and those wrongly killed by police violence. Family and community are still grieving from that day and still fighting for racial justice.
We use these candlelight vigils as sacred moments of remembrance that help people center themselves, reflect, and find solace in the community. The act of lighting a candle is an act of solidarity.
The Candlelight Vigil Planning Committee consist of community members, caretakers, neighbors of George Floyd Square, and The Gatekeeper.
