Your whole family to can join us to spend time outside, connect with nature, and identify local birds! CRWC is teaming up with the Detroit Zoo, the City of Eastpointe, and Macomb County to make birding more accessible. This hobby provides an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the natural world, and it's a great activity for families to bond over and create lasting memories, all while learning about different bird species and their habitats. You will learn about the importance of bird surveys, birding and biodiversity, the connection to Eastpointe, local songbirds, tree canopy covers, and how to identify different bird species. For the second half of the event you will receive equipment and go into the field to monitor birds. After monitoring, the group will reconvene to discuss the wildlife we saw. This event is the perfect opportunity to discover the joys of birding and learn about different bird species in a fun and educational way. Our guides will lead you through natural habitats, help you spot and identify different bird species, and learn about their behaviors and habitats. You'll have the chance to ask questions and deepen your understanding of the world around you. No experience or equipment is necessary. Just wear comfortable shoes.
