Mark your calendars! Join us at Worthy Brewing on Thursday, May 11th at 5pm to hear about Space Hope and Charity, a documentary film about a young woman who overcomes poverty and unspeakable tragedy while pursuing a dream of becoming an astrophysicist.
Charity was a nontraditional university student, raised in poverty, the first in her family to graduate from high school. In her mid-20s, she was married and nine months pregnant when she decided to return to school to study physics. Life felt perfect. Then, on what she calls "The Worst Day", her world was destroyed. With help from friends old and new, she finds her way back to the distant galaxies where she feels most at peace.
Charity will speak about her journey from Pine Mountain Observatory to working with data from the James Webb Space Telescope, and Woody's Stars, the education fund created in memory of her son.
Worthy will donate $1 of every pint sold to Woody's Stars!
Then stay to look at the night sky from the Hopservatory!"
