This month Comedy at McCoys is ABSOLUTELY THE MOST UNIQUE show we have done to date!!! This is the show to come to, there has not been one like it before!! Bring your friends and show them what awesome shows you find! We have Bernice Ye in town from LA!! - Bernice Ye is a stand-up comedian and writer based in the Pacific Northwest. Born and raised in China, she came to the US by herself to pursue a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Peking University. Frustrated with the lack of authentic presentations of first-generation immigrant stories, she started stand-up comedy in 2018 and immediately fell in love. After working in the tech industry for 15 years, Bernice left her leadership position to focus full-time on stand-up comedy in February 2021. Refreshing, witty, and adorably honest, Bernice’s sense of humor and hysterical act-outs surprise the audience with her originality, leaving them with memorable punchlines while learning something new about her culture. Her comedy appeals to all types of audiences, whether it’s in a metropolitan city like Seattle, or a small town like Grants Pass, Oregon. She has featured for national headliners Steve Brown and Nate Jackson, and performed at the New York Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, AV Comedy Festival, Northwest Women’s Comedy Festival, Crazy Woke Asians, Intersections Festival, as well as clubs and theatres all over the west coast. In a world that’s more divided than ever, Bernice’s passion is to bridge cultures and empower immigrants through humor and personal stories. Val St Claire - Val St. Claire is a Seattle-based comedian and astrologer who has been hailed for their “intense sense of irony” and “insistence that you text your mom right now to make sure that’s your exact birth time.” Their festival appearances include Just For Laughs Northwest, Cinder Block Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, and lesbian living rooms across the nation. TwoScarves - TwoScarves is a comedian, singer, songwriter who is known for her observational humor, hilarious parodies and accents. Fans have described her as refreshing, thought provoking, multitalented and for breaking stereotypes. As the only Muslim who happens to love heavy metal in her black southern Baptist family, life experiences allows you to go on a colorful, mind opening yet funny journey during her performances. TwoScarves has competed in Nate Jackson's Funniest MF Comedy Competitiion in 2021 and 2022. Her dream came true when she met and opened for her comedic idol, Amir K but she also had the honor to open for A.G White and Melanie Comarcho. TwoScarves has hosted numerous Metal shows such as, "Stop the Stigma, Treat the Mind" in 2022, a yearly benefit show that brings awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. Her Netflix special, "Southern Muslim Mama" has grossed over 77 billion dollars." You can catch TwoScarves performing at your local comedy show or rocking out front and center at your local music venue. And Special guest star appearance from Maritess The Magician!!! Maritess Zurbano is the only Filipina-American magician in history. She is a former Las Vegas croupier, former member of a professional baccarat team, and had her own illusion show in Japan. Zurbano competed in the coveted world championships of magic (also known as the Olympics of Magic) at the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques in Lisbon against 150 other nominated magicians. She is the former strolling magician at Harrah's Las Vegas, a recurring performer at the Hollywood Magic Castle, and has performed at corporate events at most of the major casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.
