Description

This course will consist of 45 minutes of lecture led by Maksim, followed by 15 minutes of sound bowls provided by our very own Kerry. Introduction to Ayurveda is a workshop that provides an overview of the principles and practices of Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine. The workshop covers the history and evolution of Ayurveda, as well as its basic concepts and principles. Ayurveda is a holistic system of healing that emphasizes balance and harmony between the mind, body, and spirit. It is based on the belief that each individual has a unique constitution or prakriti, which is determined by the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The workshop provides an in-depth understanding of each of the three doshas and their characteristics, and how they relate to various aspects of our health and wellbeing. Participants learn how to identify their own doshic constitution and how to maintain balance between the doshas through diet, lifestyle, and other Ayurvedic practices. The workshop also covers the Ayurvedic approach to disease and healing, including the use of herbs, spices, and other natural remedies to restore balance and promote wellness. Overall, Introduction to Ayurveda provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of Ayurveda, empowering them to take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing by incorporating Ayurvedic principles into their daily lives.
