Family-Friendly Boulder Group Hike

This is a family-friendly hike along a portion of Boulder Mesa Trail starting from the NCAR trailhead. It’s relatively flat, but beautiful landscape that traverses just below the flatirons and foothills. There are pockets of pine, meadows, and panoramic vistas where you can take in the iconic Boulder backdrop. Note, we will NOT do the full length of the trail, as young children may be present, but you’re welcome to push ahead if you find our group’s pace is too slow. Meet us at the NCAR Trailhead, located on the north side of the NCAR building (National Center for Atmospheric Research) at 2 PM. We will officially start hiking at 2:15 PM. Liability Waiver: Friendly reminder to sign the waiver before the Trading for Trails hike/event (if we don't already have one on file). Please sign on an annual basis. Note: we are not professional guides, but volunteers enjoying the outdoors with you. Meet-up Time: 2 PM (we will begin hiking at 2:15) Distance: we will only do 2-3miles; Elevation Gain: approx. 500 ft. Trailhead Information via All Trails: National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/national-center-for-atmospheric-research-ncar-ramble-trail Directions: 1850 Table Mesa Dr., Boulder, CO 80305. Take US-36 West towards Boulder, exit Table Mesa Dr then turn Left. Follow Table Mesa Dr. all the way up to the National Center for Atmospheric Building (NCAR) parking lot. Parking: The parking lot for the trailhead is shared with the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) building, and it is free. There are bathrooms also available. The trailhead is located on the north side of the building, adjacent to the parking lot. Essentials for this event: Plenty of water, backpack, med kit, sun protection, jacket/layers, snack, and proper foot attire (hiking boots, or tennis shoes).
