Urban Sanctuary will be conducting our second Anti-Racism Community Dialogue hosted by expert facilitator, Dameda JoLynn, founder of The Dameda JoLynn Enterprise. Please join US at Urban Sanctuary to cover the following areas. Revisit essential terms to create a solid foundation of understanding as participants take steps to work alongside one another inside of differences. Practice listening to what the body is communicating (by way of emotions) when feeling activated/triggered/in conflict and learn to respond instead of reacting from the state of the mind.Co-create pillars that inspire trust inside of cross-cultural relationships. Anti-racism work is a daily practice and conscious integration. Starting here, in a space where your thoughts, questions and reflections are honored and welcomed, is a step into the progression of dismantling white supremacy. Ticket sales will contribute to Urban Sanctuary's Anti-Racism Community Project which will provide funds to support the historic Five Points District by unifying Welton Street. We continually want to elevate the voices of Black and Brown individuals, preseve the rich history of the neighborhood and at the core, bring people together. About Dameda JoLynn Dameda has been building and facilitating healing & Anti-Racist curriculums within corporations and on an individual level for the past two plus years and immerses herself in her work with pride & purpose with the intention to create compassionate spaces that uncloak inner truths that transform and imbue hope for change. Her passion for right speech—using communication as a way to develop insight to further understand herself and others—is at the core of everything she commits herself to. As a Black woman, Dameda’s experience in Anti-Racism work is direct in that she effectively empowers & advocates for herself in white-centric spaces by bringing attention to implicit bias and the action required to move towards creating Anti-Racist environments. She has also spent time in the corporate space as a mediator where she focuses on bridging cross-cultural relationships through conscious communication built on the foundation of honor and trust. Dameda’s approach is honest and gentle, as she challenges white people to step into conversations around race exposing truths to why race needed to exist in the first place and the action that can be taken to build Anti-Racist ideologies within oneself and for the human race. About Urban Sanctuary Urban Sanctuary is one of the only black owned yoga + wellness studio in Denver, Colorado.
