The American Airlines Black Professional Network is excited to bring back its annual Professional Development & Leadership Conference.
Our last session was held in 2019 entitled "Why Diversity, Why Now", where we learned about efforts to dismantle unconscious bias. This year, after 3 years of multiple organizations making DEI commitments to support Black employees, have those efforts been successful?
This year we'll discuss "The State of Equity in Black Corporate America", address what has changed, and what is still needed to change in order to increase Black representation in senior leadership.
This conference will feature speakers and panel discussions on the following topics:
"Preparing Professionals for Leadership" from Danielle Frazier, President & CEO of Charlotte Works
Panel discussion on the DEI Initiatives all companies should have and adopt
"Actioning Equity in Black Communities and Leading a City to Change" Keynote Featuring City of Charlotte Mayor Pro Tem, Braxton Winston
Panel discussion on Community Outreach and providing access and opportunity in Black Communities
"You Have a Seat, Now What?" a special fireside chat with Ericka Spradley Chief PowHer Officer of Confident Career Woman
To conclude the conference, there will be a 90-minute networking session for attendees plus a Black Business Expo.
May 17th - BPN is partnering with Supportive Housing Community to support our neighbors in the Charlotte community. If you're unable to attend in person, the opportunity to support is available via donations.
