What is Crankin' Engines?Crankin' Engines is an exciting and engaging 3-day camp (4 hours each day) that provides students with a hands-on approach to learning about small engines. During this camp, students will have the opportunity to disassemble and reassemble an engine, allowing them to gain an understanding of its inner workings and how it operates. This camp is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about engines and mechanical systems. What Are the Benefits?Learning about small engine mechanical operations can be a great way to spark creativity and open a child's mind to future opportunities. With the right skills and knowledge, kids will be inspired toward entrepreneurship and perhaps even operating a home-based business. Our Four Stroke Internal Combustion Engine Curriculum is an incredibly informative and hands-on Applied Science. Students have the opportunity to explore the scientific theory behind the combustion engine, as well as engage in the practical exercise of taking apart and reassembling an engine. What Will They Learn?This camp offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain a strong understanding of the mechanics of the combustion engine and gain valuable technical skills. At the end of this camp, students will be able to: disassemble and reassemble a Briggs and Stratton enginegrasp basic principles of chemistry, physics, geometry, and even a little biologydescribe engine components and the basic four-stroke engine operationexplore engines and fundamental mechanical principlesunderstand proper tool usageStudent InformationThis is a 3 day camp, 4 hours per day.Parents/guardians assume all responsibility and liability for their students.Camp conditions are outdoors in the shade or in garages, so dress appropriately. Students will stand for 4 hours with 10-minute breaks at the top of each hour. The entire curriculum is hands-on work; there is no written work. Bring water and snacks (unless indicated that the host that water/snacks will be provided).Registration closes 3 weeks in advance of 1st day of campRegistration & Refund PolicyTotal Camp Fee per Student: $190.00 (not including registration fees/taxes collected by Eventbrite. MechaniChics LLC does not profit from these fees.) The camp fee includes a $50 non-refundable deposit. Registration closes 3 weeks in advance of 1st day of camp. All camps have an 8-student minimum and a 12-student maximum Students may take the camp again within 12 months for free. Please contact MechaniChics directly ([email protected]) to register.Former students do not count toward the total registered students.A refund will be provided, minus the deposit, if the class minimum isn't met. A full refund will be provided if the MechanicChics instructor cancels due to an emergency.By registering students for this camp, you acknowledge the following:I assume responsibility and liability for my studentI have read the student info and have asked Mandie any additional questions.I have read and understand the registration & refund policies.I have recorded the date and time in my calendar and the payment deadline for the camp.I have provided an email address I check consistently and will respond to messages Mandie may send.I will bring water and snack for my student each day of camp.
