This May we will be celebrating our black students as they transition to the next part of their lives. Wether that be going to high school or graduating and continuing their education in higher ed. We hope that you will take time to celebrate with us and your scholars! Black Graduation is a sacred right of passage within the Black community. This ceremony is offered at the collegiate level, but also at high schools around the nation. Moreover, black graduation is a symbol and celebration that seeks to honor the achievements and experiences of black graduates but also those who have come before us. This graduation symbolizes the culminating educational journey that brings our families, ancestors, and village of supporters with us to celebrate our educational advancements as a people; a feat that was not always afforded to many because of segregation , racsim, injustices, and overall systemic oppression.
