Description
The Electric Film Series returns to the Electric Theater on Tuesday, May 16th at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a screening of a much-talked-about western from the 1950’s; “High Noon” (1952) -------------------------------------------- Any film referenced by “Die Hard” should be high on any cinephile’s must-see list and “High Noon” starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, is such a film. This somewhat divisive western from 1952 tells the tale of a small-town marshall who must decide whether or not to engage a vengeful killer in a duel to the death or leave town with his loving bride. Come and be part of a cinematic experience that The Guardian suggests; “Stands out as the proto-anti-western, questioning the conventions of a genre long before doing so was vogue.” Per usual, we at The Electric Film Series aren’t just about the movies themselves. We’re also about film history and context; with each of these screenings, we have a very special guest on hand to introduce the title of the evening and to lead a post-screening discussion. Our special guest for “High Noon” is TBA. Be sure to arrive at the screening a little early and leave an optional donation. This donation will get you a delicious menu item from Riggatti’s to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can also take it home with you following the movie. On a final note, don’t forget to spread the word about the 2023 Electric Film Series! We have quite the year planned and screenings of this nature are always a grander experience when accompanied by a big, enthusiastic, cinema-loving crowd. We hope to see you all there! -------------------- What is the Electric Film Series? FMASU proudly presents The Electric Film Series - A Journey Through the History of Film: Volume 3! We're taking audiences on a cinematic adventure that spans over a century of film… The third Tuesday of every month, throughout 2023... And it’s completely free to the community! Spread the word!
