Portsmouth's Con Tutti! World Music Chorus celebrates spring with “Soar to the Sun!” on May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at South Church, 292 State Street, Portsmouth, NH! “We’re Celebrating spring with our first 'in house' spring concert since 2019", says Director, Joanne Connolly. “Last year, we had the great good fortune to sing a Ukrainian relief concert at Green Acre under the Big Top. We are now so excited to be back in place at South Church to really ‘raise the roof’ with uplifting, upbeat music. We will kick off with the amazing South African songs ‘Hlonolofatsa’ and ‘Thula Sizwe’ paired with Bob Dylan’s ‘I Shall Be Released’, first put together by Miriam Makeba and Nina Simone. The beat will continue with the great gospel tunes ‘Revival' and ‘Heaven Belongs to YOU’. We’ll slow it down with Leonard Cohen's beautiful, evocative ‘Halleluajh’, among many others! Soar to the Sun with Con Tutti! promises to be a great uplift for your heart and spirit!! Boston's Matt Jenson and his trio will be on hand to drive the music home and make you want to dance in your seats! The concert is sure to sell out so get your tickets soon.
