Join Berkley CERT for an in-person training on Disaster Preparedness! This is the first unit in the full 8-part CERT curriculum. "CERT Disaster Preparedness" addresses specific hazards faced by people in Berkeley and covers actions that people should take before, during, and after a disaster. At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to: -- Identify the roles and responsibilities for community preparedness, including local government, community leaders from all sectors, and the public. -- Describe the types of hazards most likely to affect our community and their potential impact on people, health, and infrastructure. -- Undertake personal and organizational preparedness actions. -- Describe the functions of CERTs and their role as a CERT member. Interested participants may take this course as a stand-alone training, or continue to register for all CERT courses. At this time, we cannot offer one registration for all eight CERT trainings at once. Please address any specifically needed accommodations to the Event Organizer.
