Women in Medicine: Discussion with NU Alumnus Dr. Claudia Tellez '86

We invite students who identify as women who are interested in medicine to join the Waldron Student-Alumni Connections Program for a special conversation with Dr. Claudia Tellez '86 who is at Northwestern Medicine specializing in Hematology and Medical Oncology. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Tellez '86 is a first generation American college student after immigrating to the United States from Columbia when she was a teenager. Her father passed away from a brain tumor when he was young, which influenced Dr. Tellez's drive to become a doctor. We will have a casual conversation with Dr. Tellez '86 about her time at Northwestern along with more about her work today. We hope to answer specific questions about what it is like to be a woman pursuing a career in medicine, so please bring any challenges and/or concerns you may have to this discussion so that Dr. Tellez '86 can share her perspective with you. ***Personalized lunches will be ordered for this event, so please be on the look out for information on placing your order after you register!
